The artist in her own words:

This project has been my personal favourite because of how much I enjoyed building it. The website was built in collaboration with the artist and her team, and their innate artistic flair informed most of the design choices on the website. My value add was providing technical know-how, fast execution, quick iteration on candidate designs and a robust backend setup that would scale and last.
On a personal note, I highly recommend checking her work out and considering her for a great bespoke art piece you might want to add to your home. She is one of the warmest, kindest and dedicated people I’ve had the privilege to come across, and I hope that you’ll feel the same from her work.
Highlights of the web experience
You land on a single painting, full bleed, with its title and medium alongside one understated and tasteful invitation to see it up close. The newest piece fills the screen and changes as she adds to the collection.
Browsing, and buying
From there the Gallery is the heart of it: every original work the artist has shared with the world, in a masonry grid you can narrow by medium, collection, price, and whether a piece is still available. Tap any painting and you’ll get its full page, the story behind it, and a way to enquire about the painting or commission a fresh one. The gallery is built to make a small catalogue feel considered rather than a wall of thumbnails.
The key design choices
- I wanted there to be no friction or intermediaries between the artist and her customers when it came to what she put out there on the website. Whether that be modifying her written sections or changing artworks and their details, it was clear that we had to wire a seamless content management system (CMS) that required zero technical know-how and which worked flawlessly. We did this via Sanity Studio and Cloudinary. I am happy to share that the artist and her team have now seamlessly modified and updated the website numerous times now without my involvement.
- Product taste in this project was very much informed by the customer and the clear vision they had for their project. I learnt more technically in terms of what I could do for SEO optimisation, reliable hosting and good repository structure/design.
- Much of the heavy work was done by claude code, but you’ll notice that the website feels anything but AI generated. Painstaking attention was given to every button, animation, interaction and colour palette to make this a lasting product of human craftsmanship, something I have been very grateful to Noor (The artist’s daughter and primary aid) and Ritu aunty for. More than textbooks, it is working with them that has helped me improve my product and aesthetic sense.
